After obtaining concessions from Brussels in order to stay in the European Union, British Prime Minister David Cameron faces major internal blowback as popular London Mayor and Tory party ally Boris Johnson announced he would campaign in favor of the so-called "Brexit."

A day after Cameron called the June 23 referendum and pledged to campaign for Britain to stay in the EU, Johnson stated to a crowd of reporters on the steps of his London home on Sunday that he would help lead the fight against the measure. The prime minister is reported to have been furious as Johnson informed him of his final decision by text message nine minutes before making the public address.

Monday's front page of British tabloid The Sun features the famously blond-haired Johnson apparently enjoying the mayhem he has set off in center-right British politics. The mayor writes in the the Daily Telegraph that Britain must be "brave" and says that "EU history shows that they only really listen to a population when it says no."
