The Star, June 14

South African daily The Star featured a distraught Oscar Pistorius in court, on the front page of its Tuesday edition, alongside the headline "Oscar's Broken Spirit."

On Monday, Pistorius attended the first day of his sentencing hearing at the High Court in Pretoria, with members of both his family and that of his late girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, whom he is accused of having murdered three years ago.

"He displayed signs and reported symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorder and depressive disorder. Currently he is not able to testify. His condition is severe," psychologist Jonathan Scholtz was quoted as saying. According to the psychologist, Pistorius should be hospitalized.

"He must pay for killing my daughter," the BBC quotes Steenkamp's father as saying.

The 29-year-old Paralympic athlete is currently living under house arrest at his uncle's mansion and faces a minimum 15-year jail term. The sentencing hearing is expected to conclude by Friday.
